Paxi offers the most beautiful beaches and unspoilt bays of the Ionian Islands and is part of the ranking of the 20 most beautiful islands in the world. It is ideal for anchorage because of the many “blue” and underwater caves, small coves and rich green background, which create a magical landscape. The three main villages of the island are Gaios (capital of Paxi), Lakka and Logos. A visit to the traditional Lakka Bay is a must! Routes

The fertile islands of the Ionian Sea, covered with pines, cypresses and fields of colorful flowers, contrast directly with the adjacent barren mountainous continent of Greece. Similarly, the architecture of the ports is picturesque, with red-tiled houses in eclectic Italian and French styles. This environment is an ideal sailing ground, with favorable winds. While they are particularly recommended for novices and family groups, their many itinerary options will have something to offer everyone.

Wind and sailing conditions

Wind and sailing conditions in the Ionian Sea are ideal and predictable. From May to September, the wind blows from the northwest to Force 2-5. In spring and autumn, the wind is less strong and usually blows from the southwest. It arrives around noon, blows between force 3 to 6 (10 to 25 knots) and falls at sunset. There may be strong gusts on the leeward side due to the highlands (for example, the east side of Ithaca and Zakinthos). The islands are therefore very popular with flotillas and there can be a lot of people in many ports, especially in August when Greeks and Italians also take their holidays. Recommended for novices and family groups, but offering something for everyone and with plenty of itinerary options.
